The Women in Leadership Symposium is a dedicated event that brings together accomplished women leaders, aspiring leaders, and advocates for gender diversity in various industries. The primary objectives of the symposium are to inspire, educate, and empower women to thrive in leadership roles and to promote gender equity and inclusivity in the workplace. This year's symposium theme is, Leading with Heart: Empathy, Ethics & Excellence," which celebrates and explores the importance of compassion, ethics, and excellence in leadership, particularly as they relate to women leaders. Newson
Lorri Newson is currently the Chief Financial and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer for Pace Suburban (located in the Arlington Heights, IL) and a Certified Diversity Professional. Lorri lives by the words of Robert G. Ingersoll, “This is my doctrine: Give every other human being every right you claim for yourself. Accordingly, Lorri has spent over two decades working with large public agencies to ensure low-moderate income families have access to affordable and quality housing, education, health, economic and transportation opportunities through various federal, state and local government funded programs. Some of her most notable accomplishments include helping transform public housing and creating affordable housing homeownership programs for low-income families in Chicago. When Lorri is not working, she spends time in the gym, reading and coaching women on lifestyle changes to promote health and well-being.
